Practical drive-away awning with air channels

Outwell Wolfburg 450 Air is a drive-away awning with air channels from Danish Outwell. The tent is extremely easy to set up and pitch and fits cars with a height between 175 and 200 cm to the roof, roof rack, or keder rail. Simply attach the tent fabric to the ground with the connection tunnel facing the car, pump up the integrated channels in the tent fabric that form the frame of the tent. Then attach the tent via the keder rail to the car, to the roof, or with ropes over the car. The only pole is the one that creates the protection at the front opening. Two advantages of the tent compared to other tents are that it runs along the side of the car so you get a really large tent without encroaching on the neighbor's campsite, and that it can be used as a regular family tent without the connection tunnel.

About Outwell Wolfburg 450 Air Drive-Away Awning 175 - 200 cm

Outwell Wolfburg is a stable and very quick-pitch drive-away awning. Thanks to its depth of 3.1 meters and the bent air channels that provide good headroom in large parts of the tent, it offers plenty of usable space. Both the car and the tent are easily accessible via the large front door, the side door of the tent, or the small doors on the sides of the connection tunnel. On warm days, the entire front can be opened to create a sheltered outdoor space. If there are small insects around, simply close the mosquito door at the front. The tent also has a sewn-in groundsheet that eliminates drafts and keeps out small insects, while reducing condensation. Two advantages of the tent compared to other tents are that it runs along the side of the car so you get a really large tent without encroaching on the neighbor's campsite, and that it can be used as a regular family tent without the connection tunnel.

The connection tunnel has a full-sized door so the tent can be fully opened up to the car. If you then want to drive away with the car and leave the tent, just close the door and detach the connection tunnel from the car. If extra sleeping space is needed, a sleeping cabin for two people is also available as an option.

The large tinted windows provide a bright interior while reducing visibility from the outside. The tent's windows are equipped with curtains that can be adjusted in three steps. This makes it easy to regulate both light and visibility in the tent. The tent fabric itself is robust, with a hydrostatic head of 4000 mm and taped seams, so you don't have to worry about it withstanding rain and harsh weather.

The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lamps or other accessories in the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang up equipment or clothes in the tent.

Questions and Answers Air/Smart Air
1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. The outer layer is heavy-duty polyester, then a protective layer of PVC, and finally, the channel itself is made of TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. However, it is important to only use a pump with a pressure gauge and not to inflate to a higher pressure than specified for the tent, as this risks damaging the channels. 

2. What happens if there is a hole in the channel or a valve breaks? Will the tent collapse?
The channels are separated so it will not collapse if there is a hole in one channel. They can also be repaired with a repair kit or gaffer tape/silicone tape. Both the channels and valves are fully replaceable.
