Freestanding Car Tent with Air Channels

Outwell Santa Monica Air is a car tent with air channels from Danish Outwell. The tent is extremely easy to set up and is suitable for most cars with a height up to 200 cm to the lip or roof. Simply attach the tent fabric to the ground with the slussen facing the car, inflate the integrated air channels in the fabric that form the frame of the tent. Then attach the tent via the keder strip to the car/awning, to the car rails or over the car. The only pole is the one over the small protection at the front opening.

About Outwell Santa Monica Air Car Tent

The inflatable Outwell Santa Monica Air tent is a great choice for couples, small families, friends, or solo travelers. It provides extra space for accommodation and opportunities for more sleeping areas at the campsite. The tent has flexible entrances through the side doors on both sides of the slussen, which connects the tent to your car, as well as an easy-to-use J-door at the front, protected by a practical sunshade. The mosquito net behind the door makes it easy to adjust ventilation.

The slussen has a full-size door so the tent can open completely towards the car. If you then want to drive away with the car and leave the tent, just close the door and detach the slussen from the car. 

The large tinted windows provide a bright interior environment while reducing visibility. The tent's windows are equipped with curtains that can be adjusted in three steps, making it easy to control both light and privacy inside the tent. The fabric itself is sturdy, with a water column of 4000 mm and taped seams, so you don’t need to worry about rain and bad weather.

1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. The outer layer is heavy polyester, then a protective layer of PVC, and finally the air channel in TPU. This construction makes the channels more durable against wind than steel or fiberglass poles. However, it's important to only use a pump with a pressure gauge and not inflate beyond the pressure specified for the tent, as this could damage the channels.

2. What happens if the channel breaks or a valve breaks? Does the tent collapse?
The channels are separate, so the tent will not collapse if a channel breaks. They can also be repaired with a repair kit or duct tape/silicone tape. Both the channels and valves are fully replaceable.
