Spacious family tent

Outwell Durango 4 is a four-person family tent with many practical details and extra-large windows in the living area. The spacious living area offers plenty of room for furniture without feeling cramped, and the darkened sleeping cabin with two bedrooms can be opened up into one large bedroom for those who want to keep the family together. One detail that is easy to miss is the large wind- and rain-protected opening at the front, providing a sheltered area for storage, cooking or chairs.

The big news for 2026 is the new, integrated and patented Outwell Light System, providing dimmable and functional lighting in the living area. Outwell Powertec Pole System is a new type of fibreglass pole that is significantly stronger and more stable than traditional fibreglass poles. Combined with the durable flysheet, this creates a tent that suits those who camp a lot.

About Outwell Durango 4 Family Tent

Outwell Durango 4 is the smaller tent that accommodates four people. The tent has two bedrooms and a spacious living area designed for groups of up to four people, but we also recommend it for families of three to provide a little extra space in the sleeping cabin. The tent has a sewn-in groundsheet across the entire tent, which protects against wind, insects and moisture. Combined with the large windows in the living area, you get a bright and pleasant atmosphere inside. This is especially noticeable on cooler evenings and in poorer weather. 

The family tent has two entrances, one on the side and one at the front, making the tent very flexible in terms of pitching position and creating great opportunities to easily ventilate the tent on warm days.


Outwell Ventilation
The rear ventilation can be fully opened to create extra airflow in the tent on warm days or in the morning. The front ventilation above the windows is also generously sized to provide good through-flow. Since both entrances also have extra mesh doors, you can open the tent fully to keep the temperature down even when there are lots of insects around. Perfect during really hot days or for those camping in warmer countries.

 

The living area

The large living area feels very airy and pleasant thanks to the 190 cm headroom. The large windows create a bright and airy indoor environment. The tent’s windows are also equipped with roll-up curtains, making it easy to choose how much light or privacy you want. The living area has plenty of space for furniture without feeling cramped.

Outwell HookTrack System
Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lights or other accessories inside the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes in the tent. 
 

The sleeping cabin

The sleeping cabin in Outwell Durango 4 is divided into two bedrooms with space for two and two people respectively. The wall between the bedrooms can be removed to gather the whole family in one large bedroom. A heavier dark fabric in the sleeping cabin, as well as in the flysheet fabric above the sleeping cabin, reduces the effect of many tent campers’ worst enemy: the morning sun. The sleeping cabin also has a curtain that can be rolled down over the ventilation opening to reduce the light coming in through the vent.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
The middle bedroom has, in addition to the zipper, a magnetic strip so the door can be opened and closed without using the zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). A solution that makes it possible to enter and exit the sleeping cabin without waking the rest of the family. 

 

Other

The flysheet is completely waterproof with taped seams and is flame-retardant treated. The impregnation is PFC-free. The doors in the flysheet are also fitted with zippers at the bottom edge so they can be sealed tightly against the groundsheet. The inner tent comes pre-attached on delivery and does not need to be removed when the tent is packed away. The poles are colour-coded for easier pitching.
