If we are to choose a tent that does not compromise on quality, function, comfort and innovation, it is clearly the Outwell Wood Lake 7ATC. Three sleeping areas and two large living area provide plenty of space in which to live.   By mixing cotton and polyester in the tent fabric, the tent gets a much better indoor climate than other tents as the cotton breathes in heat and insulates in cold. The fabric also moves less and is quieter. About Outwell Wood Lake 7ATC Family Tent

The crown in Outwell's product range is their ATC tent which combines a cotton-blended fabric with Outwell's Rigid Air technology, in which the poles have been replaced with air channels making it extremely easy to pitch the tent. To pitch the tent, you attach the tent fabric to the ground, pump up the channels integrated in the tent fabric with the included pump and then you attach the guylines and then the tent is ready to move into. Simple and smart. By mixing cotton and polymer in the tent fabric, the tent gets a much better indoor climate than other tents by the cotton protecting against heat and insulating in the cold. It also provides a much quieter indoor environment. In other words, you can say goodbye to both the rustle when it blows and the classic tent scent that comes with synthetic canvases on hot days.

The tent is based on three zones. A principle that is common in England and is usually called the outer room, inner room and sleeping area. The outer room with removable floor that can either be used as a dining area or to hang wet clothes and store equipment. The next zone is the standard living area with a completely sealed floor where you can advantageously put in a carpet and furnish for socialising in the evenings or rainy days when you do not want to go in and out of the tent very much. The last zone is then the sleeping areas which consist of three sleeping areas.

Outwell Hayward Lake 7ATC is a further development of   the previously popular model, Outwerll Rock Lake 7ATC, and is a tent featuring three openings, one on each side and one in the front, which makes the tent very flexible in terms of placement and creates good means to ventilate the tent on hot days. The large opening in the front opens completely and then turns the family tent's outer room into a protected patio. Perfect for nice summer days or for those camping in countries with warmer climates. 

Outwell Quick & Quiet
The door between the living area and the outer room and the door to one of the sleeping areas has a magnetic strip in addition to the zip so it can be opened and closed without a zip. A solution that makes it easy to get between the tent's rooms, get in and out of the inner tent without waking the rest of the family and to get in and out of the tent without having to use the zip (if the outer door is open).
 

Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be opened up completely to create extra air flow in the tent during hot days or in the morning. The ventilation at the front is also considerably increased to get a better continuous flow. As all of the openings also have mesh doors, you can open the tent completely to keep the temperature inside the tent down, even if there are a lot of small insects on the move.
 

The living areas

The tent has two larger rooms for socialising. It is also possible to open the door between the two rooms to get a large room. Large tinted windows along the sides and the panoramic windows at the front provide a very pleasant light while shielding occupants from view. The tent's windows are also equipped with folding curtains, which makes it easy to choose how much light or transparency you want.

Thanks to the large windows, the smaller outer room has a fantastic view and can be used to sit and eat or to socialise. The removable floor makes it easy to clean so it does not matter as much if you have a lot of traffic in and out of the tent in all weathers. The large door in the front can be opened in a number of different ways where you can adapt the opening to everything from the entire width of the tent, one side or just the top. If you open the tent completely, the room works more like a sunscreen and gives the feeling of sitting outside under a roof.

The inner room with the sealed floor provides a good climate in bad weather and gets significantly warmer when it is a bit chilly outside.  By closing the door to the outer room, you can then ensure that no cold draft occurs or enters some small insects which is a good feature in the evening. Both rooms are great for furnishing.  

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lamps or other accessories to the tent. The included hooks (10 pcs) also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes up in the tent. 
 

The Inner Tent

The inner tent is divided into three sleeping areas (2 + 3 + 2). The walls between the sleeping areas can be removed if you want two sleeping areas or gather the whole family in one large sleeping area.

Outwell Dark Inners
A heavier dark fabric in the inner tent and in the outer tent fabric over the inner tent reduces the effect of many tent campers' worst enemy, the morning sun. The inner tent also has a curtain that can be lowered over the valve to reduce the light transmission from the valve.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
In addition to the zip, one sleeping area has a magnetic strip so it can be opened and closed without a zip (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). This is a solution that allows you to get in and out of the inner tent without waking the rest of the family.  

Other

The tent has proper ventilation at the back and under each window that can be easily adjusted to obtain the desired air flow. The inner tent is pre-assembled on delivery and does not need to be detached when the tent is packed. The pegs pins are colour-coded, which makes it easy to mount despite its size.
 

Questions and answers Air / Smart Air

1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. Finally, a layer of strong polyester, then a protective layer of PVC and then comes the channel itself in TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. It is important, however, that you only use the supplied pump and do not pump to a pressure higher than 0.6 bar, as there is a risk of destroying the channels.

2. What happens if there is a hole in the channel or a valve breaks? Is the tent collapsing?
The channels are not interdependent, so the tent does not collapse area if there is a leak in one channel. All channels can be easily replaced and if it is a small hole, you can also fix it temporarily with a repair patch, duct tape or silicone tape. Should a valve in the tent stop working, it can also be raced.
