About Outwell San Antonio 2 Air Family Tent

The Outwell San Antonio 2 Air is a family tent designed for couples or solo campers looking for a spacious tent. Instead of poles, it uses Outwell's Rigid Air technology, replacing poles with air channels for easy setup. The two channels are easily inflated through the valve located at the lower edge on one side of the tent. The only pole included is for the sunshade, which can be mounted once the tent is set up. In other words, the tent can be pitched by one person. Besides the easy setup, the tent features a durable fabric that not only withstands rain and wind but also rustles less compared to simpler materials. Large windows provide a bright and pleasant atmosphere, and if you want more privacy, curtains are available for all windows.

The front extension protects the entrance from rain and wind, making it a convenient spot to leave shoes, toys, and other items without them getting wet, even if it rains.

The Living Area
The living area is spacious enough to accommodate a small table and chairs for two people while still allowing easy access to the inner tent. The large tinted windows provide a comfortable light throughout the room while minimizing visibility from the outside. The tent's windows also feature roll-up curtains adjustable in three positions, allowing you to control the amount of light and privacy.

The Inner Tent
The inner tent consists of a bedroom with space for two people but can also be used by a solo camper to create extra storage space. A thicker, dark fabric in the inner tent reduces the effect of many campers' worst enemy: the morning sun. The inner tent also has a curtain that can be rolled down over the ventilation to reduce incoming light.
 

Other Features
The tent fabric is completely waterproof with taped seams and is flame-retardant. It also features a sealed floor stitched to the outer tent, protecting it from wind, insects, and dirt. The inner tent is pre-assembled upon delivery and does not need to be detached when packing up the tent.

Questions and Answers about Rigid Air/Smart Air
1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. The outermost is a layer of durable polyester, followed by a protective PVC layer, and finally the TPU channel itself. This construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel or fiberglass poles. However, it is important to only use the included pump and avoid inflating above 0.8 bar, as higher pressure could damage the channels.

2. What happens if a channel gets punctured or a valve breaks? Will the tent collapse?
The channels in Rigid Air tents are separate, and in Smart Air tents, they are separated by valves. This means the tent will not collapse if a channel gets punctured. All channels can easily be replaced, and minor holes can be temporarily repaired with duct tape or silicone tape. If a valve fails, it can also be replaced.
