Outwell Oakdale 5PA is designed to accommodate both kitchen tables with chairs and a surface to furnish for socialising in a more relaxed way. The extension on the side gives a width of the living area of a full 490 cm, which provides good space for both sofa, table and armchairs in addition to the usual dining table. The tent not only has a large living area but also has an extra long dark inner tent and an extra room in the front that can be opened on completely hot days. Air ducts make the tent very easy to pitch and it is no problem for one person to pitch.

About Outwell Oakdale 5PA Family Tent

Outwell Oakdale 5PA has been developed with a focus on creating a "Home Away From Home" with plenty of space to both eat and socialise in the tent. The extra extension and two living areas provide space to eat, socialise and cook. Two spacious dark sleeping areas also provide good sleeping comfort. The tent uses Outwell's Power Air System Frame technology where the poles have been replaced with air channels for extremely easy installation. The five channels are easily pumped up via the valve in the lower edge on one side of the tent. In other words, the tent is good for pitching by one person. In addition to the simple assembly, the tent has a durable tent fabric that not only withstands rain and wind but also rustles less than simpler fabrics when it moves. Outwell Oakdale's floor plan is based on three zones, which is a principle that is common in England and is usually called the outer room, inner room and sleeping area (wet room, dry room & interiors). 

Large windows provide a bright and pleasant tent and if you want to reduce transparency, there are curtains on all windows. The family tent has two doors, one on the side and a large front. The side entrance makes the tent's inner living area easily accessible and facilitates placement on the campsite and can also be opened on hot days to ventilate the tent. The large opening at the front covers the entire front so it is easy to open up the tent completely and use the living area as a sheltered conservatory.
 
Outwell Quick & Quiet
The door between the living area and the outer room and the door to one of the sleeping areas has a magnetic strip in addition to the zip so it can be opened and closed without a zip. A solution that makes it easy to get between the tent's rooms, get in and out of the inner tent without waking the rest of the family and to get in and out of the tent without having to use the zip (if the outer door is open).
 

Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be opened up completely to create extra air flow in the tent during hot days or in the morning. The ventilation at the front is also considerably increased to get a better continuous flow. As the family tent's three openings also have mesh doors, you can open the tent completely to keep the temperature in the tent down, even if there are a lot of small insects on the move. Perfect for really hot days or for those who camp in warmer countries.

 

The living areas

The tent has two larger rooms for socialising. It is also possible to open the door between the two rooms to get a large room. Large tinted windows provide a pleasant light while protecting against visibility and heat. The tent's windows are also equipped with folding curtains, which makes it easy to choose how much light or transparency you want. 

Thanks to the large door, the outer room can be fully opened and used as a protected patio. Perfect for having a dining area protected from wind and sun, but with a feeling of sitting close to nature. If you want a floor in that room as well, you can buy the footprint that fits the tent (not included). That room is also a very good storage place for equipment that you do not want in the tent but do not want to leave outside. Perfect for prams and bicycles.

The inner room has a completely sealed floor. By closing the door to the outer room, you can then ensure that no cold drafts occur or any small insects enter. A much appreciated property in the evening. The sewn floor also provides a better climate in the tent with less condensation and better heat in colder weather.

The Outwell Wing Lounge means that the tent's living area has an extension that provides extra space to spend time in the tent. 
 

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lamps or other accessories to the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes in the tent.
 

The Inner Tent

The inner tent is divided into two sleeping areas with space for three and two people, respectively. The wall between the sleeping areas can be removed to gather the whole family into one large sleeping area. A heavier dark fabric in the inner tent minimises the effect of evening and morning sun. The fabric above the inner tent also has less light transmission. The inner tent also has a curtain that can be lowered over the valve to reduce light transmission.
 

Other

The tent has a properly sized ventilation that can be easily adjusted to get the desired air flow. The tent fabric is completely waterproof with taped seams and is treated with flame-retardant. The main part of the tent also has a sealed floor sewn to the outer tent, which protects the tent from wind, insects and dirt. The pegs are colour-coded for easier installation.


Questions and Answers Outwell Air 
1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. Finally, a layer of strong polyester, then a protective layer of PVC and then comes the channel itself in TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. It is important, however, that you only use the supplied pump and do not pump to a pressure of more than 0.6 bar, as too high a pressure risks damaging the channels. 

2. What happens if there is a hole in the channel or a valve breaks? Is the tent collapsing?
The channels are separate so the tent does not collapse if there are holes. All channels can be easily replaced and if it is a small hole, you can also fix it with Outwell's repair kits or with channel tape or a silicone-based tape (which can withstand pressures above 1 bar). Should a valve in the tents stop working, they are also easy to replace.
