All you need to do is fix the tent fabric to the ground and then pump up each channel with the included pump. The only pole is the one over the front entrance, and it is installed once the tent is up. Simple, smart, and quick. About the Outwell Moonhill 5 Air Family Tent

The Outwell Moonhill 5 Air is a large inflatable family tent suitable for families with up to three children. Despite its size, it is easy to pitch, making it ideal for those who want to go camping alone with the kids. Instead of poles, it uses Outwell's Rigid Air technology, where poles are replaced with air channels for easy setup. The four channels are easily inflated via valves on the lower edge on one side of the tent. The only pole included is for the protected entrance, which can be installed after the tent is pitched. In addition to easy setup, the tent features a durable tent fabric that withstands rain and wind and rustles less than simpler fabrics when it moves. Large windows make for a bright and pleasant tent, and if you want to reduce visibility, there are curtains on all windows.

Entrances
The family tent has two doors, one on the side and one at the front. The side entrance makes the tent easily accessible regardless of its placement at the campsite and can be opened on warm days to air out the tent. The front opening has a two-way zipper so, for example, only the top part can be opened. The front roof protects the entrance from rain, allowing shoes and equipment to be left outside the tent even in bad weather.

Ventilation
The tent has a wide vent at the back that can be adjusted to create extra airflow in the tent during warm days or in the morning. The front opening, with a two-way zipper and a mesh door, can be fully opened or just the top part to keep the temperature down inside the tent, even when there are small insects around. The side door also has a mosquito net panel and can be fully opened on warm days.

 

The Living Area

The living area is spacious and provides ample room for furnishing with a table and chairs for five people without making it cramped to move in and out of the tent or the sleeping cabin. The large tinted windows create a very comfortable light in the entire room while reducing visibility. The tent's windows are also equipped with roll-up curtains that are adjustable in three positions, making it easy to choose how much light or visibility you want.

The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lights or other accessories in the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang up equipment or clothes in the tent.
 

The Sleeping Cabin

The sleeping cabin accommodates five people but is ideally used by families with two children to have extra space for luggage or larger mattresses. It is divided into two bedrooms (2+3) but the walls between the bedrooms can be removed if you want to gather the whole family in one large bedroom. A heavier dark fabric in the sleeping cabin and a darker fabric in the outer tent over the sleeping cabin reduce the effect of many campers' worst enemy, the morning sun.

One bedroom, in addition to the zipper, has a magnetic strip so it can be opened and closed without a zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). A solution that allows you to enter and exit the sleeping cabin without waking up the rest of the family.
 

Other Features

The tent has ample ventilation that can be easily adjusted for the desired airflow. The tent fabric is completely waterproof with taped seams and is flame retardant. It also has a sealed floor sewn to the outer tent, which protects the tent against wind, insects, and dirt. The inner tent is pre-assembled upon delivery and does not need to be detached when the tent is packed up.


Questions and Answers Rigid Air/Smart Air
1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. The outermost is a layer of heavy-duty polyester, then a protective layer of PVC, and finally, the actual channel in TPU. This construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. However, it is important to use only the included pump and not to inflate to a higher pressure than 0.6 bar as it may damage the channels.


2. What happens if the channel gets punctured or a valve breaks? Does the tent collapse?
The channels are separate in Rigid Air tents, so the tent does not collapse if there is a puncture. All channels are easily replaceable and if there is a minor puncture, it can also be temporarily repaired with patch kits or airtight tape. Should a valve in the tents stop functioning, they can also be replaced.
