Fantastic Climate in All Weather

By blending cotton and polyester, the Outwell Hayward Lake 4ATC offers a significantly better indoor climate than other tents, as the cotton breathes in heat and insulates in cold. The fabric also moves less and is quieter. You can, in other words, say goodbye to both the rustling when it's windy and the classic tent smell and oppressive heat that comes with synthetic fabrics on warm days. Outwell's stable air channel technology, Rigid Air, makes the tent incredibly easy to pitch, while it can withstand winds of up to 28 m/s.

A smart detail is the new Outwell Nightlight System (ONS), which means that the tent has an optical strip sewn at the entrance and in the tent itself, where you can connect an ONS lamp (accessory) that provides a welcoming light at the tent's entrance and illuminates the living area.

About Outwell Hayward Lake 4 Air TC Family Tent

The crown in Outwell's product range is their Air TC tents which combines a cotton-blended fabric with Outwell's Rigid Air technology, in which the poles have been replaced with air channels making it extremely easy to pitch the tent. By mixing cotton and polymer in the tent fabric, the tent gets a much better indoor climate than other tents, thanks to the cotton breathing in the heat and insulating in the cold. It also provides a much quieter indoor environment as the canvas moves less and it also does not emit the classic tent scent that synthetic canvases do on hot days. 

The Outwell Hayward Lake 4 Air TC is a tent for families with up to two children. The tent has three openings, one on each side and one from the front, which makes the tent very flexible in terms of placement and also creates good opportunities to ventilate the tent on hot days. Perfect for nice summer days or for those camping in countries with warmer climates. The large front door opens from two directions, which means that it can be fully open on hot days or, for example, only the upper part of the tent can be opened to get more protection from wind and for greater privacy. The extended front both protects the entrance from rain and wind and also provides a good space for shoes, toys or other equipment that you do not want to take inside the tent. 

Outwell Quick & Quiet
A good feature is that the tent has double doors at the front. The exterior door with large windows with curtains and the interior with large mesh panels. In addition to the zipper, the inner one also has a magnetic strip in the middle, which allows you to go in and out of the tent without using a zipper. Both doors can be rolled away to use just one or open the tent completely. In addition to the zipper, the door to one of the bedrooms also has a magnetic strip. A solution that makes it easy to get in and out of the tent during the day and to get in and out of the sleeping cabin without having to fuss with zippers.


Outwell Nightlight System - ONS
Outwell Nightlight System - WED The Outwell Hayward Lake 4ATC is equipped with the patented Outwell Nightlight System, which means that they have sewn in optical strips in the front and in the family room. Then plug in an ONS light unit set (accessory) and you get a welcoming light by the tent entrece that also makes it easy to find the zipper and you get a even light in the living room of the tent. The brightness can be adjusted in three levels and a remote control comes with the ONS lamp set.
 

Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be opened up completely to create extra air flow in the tent during hot days or in the morning. The ventilation in the living area is also considerably increased to get a better continuous flow. As all of the openings also have mesh doors, you can open the tent completely to keep the temperature inside the tent down, even if there are a lot of small insects on the move. This is something that in combination with the cotton cloth makes for a tent that can withstand heat very well.

 

The living area

The living area is spacious with a ceiling height of 220 cm and the large tinted windows combined with the light ceiling provide a bright and pleasant indoor environment while reducing both visibility and heat on sunny days. The tent's windows are also equipped with folding curtains made from the same fabric as the tent fabric, which results in less light transmission than do tents with a regular tent fabric. The living area is spacious enough to furnish with a dining table with chairs. Thanks to the two side entrances, both the living area and sleeping area are easily accessible regardless of the direction in which you set up the tent.

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lamps or other accessories to the tent. The included hooks (10 pcs) also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes up in the tent. 
 

The Inner Tent

The inner tent is divided into two bedrooms, each with room for two. The wall between the sleeping areas can be removed to gather the whole family into one large sleeping area. Thanks to the fact that the inner tent is also made of 35% cotton, it produces a better climate than traditional family tents, which usually have inner tents made of 100% polyester.  

Outwell Dark Inners
A thicker dark fabric throughout the inner tent minimises the effect of many tent campers' worst enemy: the morning sun. The inner tent also has a curtain that can be lowered over the valve to reduce light transmission.
 

Outwell Quick & Quiet
In addition to the zip, one sleeping area has a magnetic strip so it can be opened and closed without a zip (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). This is a solution that allows you to get in and out of the inner tent without waking the rest of the family.  

Other

The tent has proper ventilation at the back and under each window that can be easily adjusted to obtain the desired air flow. It also has a sealed floor sewn to the outer tent, which protects the tent from wind, insects and dirt. The inner tent is pre-assembled on delivery, and does not need to be detached when the tent is packed.

 

Questions and answers Air / Smart Air

1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. Finally, a layer of strong polyester, then a protective layer of PVC and then comes the channel itself in TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. It is important, however, that you only use the supplied pump and do not pump to a pressure higher than 0.6 bar, as there is a risk of destroying the channels.

2. What happens if there is a hole in the channel or a valve breaks? Is the tent collapsing?
The channels are not interdependent, so the tent does not collapse area if there is a leak in one channel. All channels can be easily replaced, and if the hole is small, you can also repair it with a repair patch or airtight tape (repair kit for air channels or airtight tape). Should a valve in the tent stop working, it can also be raced.
