About the Outwell Blackwood 5 Family Tent

The Outwell Blackwood 5 is a family tent of classic design adapted for five people, but we also recommend it for families of four as a little extra space in the sleeping cabin is very valuable. Thanks to the sturdier canvas, the durable Duratec tent poles, and a unique attachment of the tent lines, the tent can withstand a wind force of up to 24 m/s.

The tent has two openings, a rain-protected opening on the side and a large opening at the front. The rain-safe side opening makes both the sleeping area and the living area easily accessible even in bad weather, while the large front opening opens up the tent during warm days.

Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be fully opened to create extra airflow in the tent during warm days or in the morning. The ventilation at the front is also properly sized to allow for a better through flow. As the family tent's two openings, in addition to the usual doors, also have net doors, the tent can be completely opened to keep the temperature down in the tent even if there are a lot of small insects around.
 

The Living Area

The living area is spacious, and it is possible to furnish it with a table and chairs for five people. The large tinted windows, in addition to providing a good view, also give a very pleasant light throughout the room while minimizing visibility from outside. The tent's windows are also equipped with roll-up curtains adjustable in three positions, making it easy to choose how much light or visibility one wants.

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lights or other accessories in the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang up equipment or clothes in the tent. 
 

The Sleeping Cabin

The sleeping cabin in the Outwell Blackwood 5 is divided into two bedrooms with space for three people in one and two people in the other. The wall between the bedrooms can be removed to gather the whole family in one large bedroom. A heavier dark fabric in the sleeping cabin and in the outer tent's fabric over the sleeping cabin reduces the effect of many campers' worst enemy, the morning sun. The sleeping cabin also has a curtain that can be rolled down over the ventilation to reduce the light coming in through it.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
The large bedroom has, in addition to the zipper, a magnetic strip so that the door can be opened and closed without a zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). A solution that allows one to enter and exit the sleeping cabin without waking the rest of the family. 

 

Other

The tent flysheet is completely waterproof with taped seams and is flame retardant. The doors in the outer tent are also equipped with zippers that go at the bottom edge so they can be sealed against the floor. The inner tent is pre-mounted upon delivery and does not need to be removed when the tent is packed up. The poles are color-coded for easier assembly.
