Light and Quickly Pitched Awning

Dometic's Leggera Air is an easily erected and flexible awning with air channels. The tent is extremely easy to mount and pitch and can be mounted on both caravans and motorhomes thanks to double keder strips. Just attach the tent fabric to the strip on the caravan or the motorhome's awning, place four pegs in the corners, and pump up the integrated channels in the tent fabric that form the frame from a valve on the tent. Then secure the seal against the caravan, and the tent is ready for occupancy. A large window panel on the front of the awning provides pleasant light inside.

Mounting

Dometic Leggera has two keder strips of 5 and 7 mm so it fits both caravan and motorhome. The Dometic Multi Height System also makes it easy to adjust the height by opening a zipper on the side of the tent.

Caravan: The caravan needs a straight part of the strip that is 260 cm. If one side of the tent ends up over a window or a hatch, it can be sealed with poles or limpets (not included).
Motorhome: The track in the box awning must be 260 cm for the tent to fit. To measure the height, measure from the underside of the awning to the ground, preferably both at the front and back of the awning box. It is important that the measurement does not exceed 265 cm on any side.
 

Questions and Answers about Dometic Air Channels

1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. The outermost layer is tent fabric, then a protective layer of PVC, and finally the channel in TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. It is important, however, to use a pump with a pressure gauge and not to inflate to a higher pressure than what is specified for the tent.

2. What happens if a channel gets punctured or a valve breaks? Does the tent collapse?
The channels are separated by valves. So, the tent will not collapse if a channel gets punctured. They can often also be repaired with airtight tape. Both channels and valves are fully replaceable.
