The Outwell Montana 6 Air is a family tent with excellent performance and high comfort. The extra-large dark inner tent with three bedrooms and the spacious bright living area with a ceiling height of 225 cm ensure great comfort inside the tent. A large front opening and two side entrances, one of which is rain-protected, make the tent easy to position and ventilate. Combined with a strong fabric and well-dimensioned air tubes that allow the tent to withstand even the toughest weather, it has become one of our most popular family tents. New for 2026 is the integrated dimmable light channel in the living area that provides a pleasant light in the tent.

About the Outwell Montana 6 Air Family Tent

The Outwell Montana 6 Air is designed for families or groups of up to six people. However, it is particularly recommended for families with two or three children as the extra space in the bedrooms accommodates larger beds and more luggage. The spacious living area with large windows makes the tent bright and pleasant, offering a comfortable space to eat and socialize regardless of the weather. The large front opening can be opened in two sections, allowing either full or partial opening for wind and privacy protection on warm days. A sealed groundsheet stitched to the outer tent keeps out wind, insects, and dirt.

The combination of air tubes, durable fabric, and unique guyline construction makes the tent withstand extreme winds (tested up to 88 km/h). The air tubes are also curved at the top to create more standing space within the tent.

The Montana 6 Air has a side entrance and a front entrance. The rainproof side entrance provides easy access to both the sleeping and living areas, while the large front opening can be fully opened on warm days. The side entrance features double doors and a removable floor, perfect for storing shoes and gear that should remain outside the tent.

Ventilation
The rear ventilation can be fully opened to enhance airflow during warm days or mornings. Front ventilation is also well-designed for cross-flow. Two low vents near the windows further enhance airflow. The integrated mesh panels in the tent openings provide additional ventilation while keeping insects out, ideal for hot days or camping in warmer climates.

 

Living Area

The living area is spacious with a ceiling height of 225 cm. Large tinted windows reduce heat and minimize visibility while keeping the interior bright and pleasant. The windows are equipped with roll-up curtains adjustable with zippers, allowing easy control of light and privacy. The living area is perfect for dining and socializing. On warm days, the front opening can be fully opened to use the living area as a sheltered patio.

Outwell Light System
Outwell Montana 6 Air is equipped with a dimmable LED light strip in the living area ceiling, offering a pleasant ambient light. It is controlled by a switch located outside on one of the air tubes and powered via USB (e.g., power bank, power station, or phone charger — not included).

Outwell Hook Track System
The Outwell Hook Track System allows for easy attachment of lights or other accessories. The included hooks make it convenient to hang equipment or clothes.
 

Sleeping Cabin

The sleeping cabin is divided into three rooms (2+2+2). The walls between rooms can be removed to create one large or two combined bedrooms. The extra spacious sleeping cabin (Outwell Ambassador Bedroom) provides additional length and height compared to standard tent cabins. This is perfect for extra luggage or simply having more room.

Outwell Dark Inners
Dark fabric in the sleeping cabin and the outer fabric above it minimizes the impact of sunlight. A curtain over the vent can be rolled down to reduce light further.
 

Outwell Quick & Quiet
One sleeping cabin includes a magnetic strip for quiet access without using a zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). This allows easy entry and exit without waking others.
 

Other Features

The tent fabric is fully waterproof with taped seams and flame-retardant. The inner tent comes pre-attached and does not need removal when packing up. Color-coded poles and pegs simplify assembly.
