The Outwell Charleston 7 Air TC is not just a spacious tent but also a tent with fantastic comfort and indoor climate. Thanks to its fabric, which contains a high percentage of cotton, the tent provides a significantly better indoor climate than other tents, as cotton breathes in heat and insulates in cold. The fabric also moves less and is quieter than regular tent fabrics. Three bedrooms, an extra-large living area, and an additional front room provide ample space for living. About the Outwell Charleston 7 Air TC Family Tent

The crown jewel of Outwell’s range is their Air TC tent, which combines a cotton-blend fabric with Outwell’s One Air technology, where the poles have been replaced with air tubes that are inflated from a single valve for an extremely simple setup. To pitch the tent, secure the fabric to the ground, inflate the integrated air tubes using the included pump, and then attach the guy ropes, and the tent is ready to move into. Easy and smart. You can also close valves between the air tubes to ensure the tent remains standing even in case of a leak. By blending cotton and polyester in the fabric, the tent achieves a significantly better indoor climate than other tents, as the cotton protects against heat and insulates in cold. Additionally, it provides a much quieter indoor environment, eliminating the rustling sound in the wind and the typical "tent smell" of synthetic fabrics on warm days.

The tent is built around three zones, a concept common in England, referred to as outer room, inner room, and sleeping area. The outer room with a removable floor can be used as a dining area or for hanging wet clothes and storing gear. The front door can also be removed to use the outer room as a sheltered outdoor space. The next zone is the main living room with a sewn-in floor, ideal for laying a carpet and furnishing for socializing during evenings or rainy days when frequent entry and exit is less desired. The final zone is the sleeping area, which consists of three bedrooms.

The Outwell Charleston 7 Air TC is an evolution of the award-winning Outwell Wood Lake 7ATC and features two openings—one on the side and one at the front—making the tent highly flexible in terms of placement while offering excellent ventilation options on warm days. The large front opening can be fully opened, transforming the tent’s outer room into a sheltered outdoor area. Perfect for sunny summer days or camping in warmer climates. The door between the rooms features large mesh panels that provide ventilation and let in light.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
The door between the living room and the outer room, as well as the door to one of the bedrooms, features a magnetic strip in addition to the zipper, allowing it to open and close without using the zipper. This solution makes it easy to move between the tent’s rooms, enter and exit the sleeping cabin without waking the rest of the family, and access the tent without needing to use the zipper (if the outer door is open).

Outwell Nightlight System - ONS
The Outwell Charleston 7 Air TC is equipped with a dimmable LED light strip in the living area ceiling, offering a pleasant ambient light. It is controlled by a switch located outside on one of the air tubes and powered via USB (e.g., power bank, power station, or phone charger — not included).

Ventilation
The rear ventilation can be fully opened to create additional airflow in the tent during warm days or mornings. A low vent beneath the window in the living room creates a natural flow through the tent. Additionally, the large front opening features two large mesh panels that can be opened, and the side door has an extra mesh door, allowing the tent to be fully opened to keep temperatures down while preventing insects from entering.

 

The Living Areas

The tent features two rooms for socializing. The door between the two rooms can also be opened to create one large space. Large tinted windows provide a very pleasant light while protecting against visibility from the outside. Additionally, the tent's windows are equipped with curtains that can be adjusted seamlessly with zippers, making it easy to control the amount of light or privacy you want.

The outer room, with large front-facing windows, offers a lovely view and is ideal for dining or socializing. The removable floor makes it easy to clean, so heavy traffic in and out of the tent in any weather is less of a concern. The large front door can be opened in several ways, allowing you to adjust the opening from the full width of the tent to just a portion. When fully opened, the room functions more like a sunshade, giving the feeling of sitting outdoors under a canopy.

The inner room, with its sealed floor, provides a comfortable climate during bad weather and becomes significantly warmer when it's a bit chilly outside. By closing the door to the outer room, you can ensure there are no drafts or insects entering, which is particularly beneficial in the evenings. Thanks to its large size of 13m², there is space for both a dining set, lounge furniture, and storage furniture.

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lights or other accessories inside the tent. The included hooks (10 pcs) also allow you to hang equipment or clothing inside the tent.

The Sleeping Cabin

The sleeping cabin is divided into three bedrooms (2+3+2). The walls between the bedrooms can be removed if you want to split the tent into two bedrooms or combine the family into one large sleeping area.

Outwell Dark Inners
A heavier dark fabric throughout the sleeping cabin and a darker fabric over it minimize the effect of the morning sun, often the worst enemy of many tent campers. The sleeping cabin also features a curtain that can be lowered over the vent to reduce light transmission from outside.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
The large bedroom features a magnetic strip in addition to the zipper, allowing it to open and close without using the zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). This solution enables entry and exit from the sleeping cabin without waking the rest of the family.  

Other Features

The tent features generously sized ventilation at the back and along the lower sides, which can be easily adjusted to achieve the desired airflow. The inner tent is pre-attached upon delivery and does not need to be removed when packing the tent. The pegs are color-coded, making assembly simple despite the tent's size.
 

Questions and Answers about Air/One Air

1. How durable are the air tubes?
The tubes consist of three layers. The outermost layer is strong polyester, followed by a protective PVC layer, and finally the TPU air tube itself. This construction makes the tubes more resistant to wind compared to steel or fiberglass poles. However, it is crucial to only use the included pump and not exceed a pressure of 0.6 bar, as higher pressure may damage the tubes.

2. What happens if a tube is punctured or a valve breaks? Will the tent collapse?
Once the tent is inflated, a valve between the tubes can be closed, ensuring the tent will not collapse if a leak occurs in one of the tubes. All tubes can be easily replaced, and smaller punctures can be repaired with a patch or airtight tape (such as duct tape or silicone tape). If a valve stops functioning, it can also be replaced easily. Our experience shows that air tubes are as durable as steel poles and more reliable than fiberglass poles.
