Large and quickly pitched 4-person family tent from Outwell that uses air channels instead of regular poles. Two dark sleeping areas, a large living area with attached floor and an extra room in the front provide good space for both the family and equipment. The room in front has a large door and can be opened upward to provide shade or to protect from rain and wind. The front also provides space for equipment that you want to keep out of inclement weather but do not want inside the tent.

Spend time hanging out instead of pitching your tent. With the Outwell Parkdale 4PA, you are quickly on site with the tent. The only thing you need to do is attach the tent fabric to the ground and then pump up each channel with the included pump. Then attach the guylines and the tent is ready for use. Simple, smart and fast. In other words, you avoid the most time-consuming step of assembling, threading and pitching the tent with poles. Dark sleeping area, large living area with a fully attached floor and an extra room without a floor in the front all make for a very high comfort tent.
Outwell Parkdale 4PA is a family tent made for families or groups of up to four people in two sleeping areas. Instead of poles, it uses Outwell's Rigid Air technology where the poles have been replaced with air channels for easy assembly. The four channels are easily pumped up via the valve in the lower edge on one side of the tent. In other words, the tent is good for pitching for one person. In addition to the simple assembly, the tent has a durable tent fabric that not only withstands rain and wind but also rustles less than simpler fabrics when it moves. Outwell Parkdale's floor plan is based on three zones, which is a principle that is common in England and is usually called the outer room, inner room and sleeping area (wet room, dry room & inners).
Large windows provide a bright and pleasant tent and if you want to reduce transparency, there are curtains on all windows. The family tent has two doors, one on the side and a large front. The side entrance makes the tent's inner living area easily accessible and facilitates placement on the campsite and can also be opened on hot days to ventilate the tent. The large opening at the front covers the entire front so it is easy to open up the tent completely and use the living area as a sheltered conservatory.
Outwell Quick & Quiet
The door between the living area and the outer room and the door to one of the sleeping areas has a magnetic strip in addition to the zip so it can be opened and closed without a zip. A solution that makes it easy to get between the tent's rooms, get in and out of the inner tent without waking the rest of the family and to get in and out of the tent without having to use the zip (if the outer door is open).
Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be opened up completely to create extra air flow in the tent during hot days or in the morning. As well, the ventilation at the front is substantially increased in order to get a better continuous flow. As the family tent's three openings also have mesh doors, you can open the tent completely to keep the temperature in the tent down, even if there are a lot of small insects on the move. Perfect for really hot days or for those who camp in warmer countries.
The tent has two larger rooms for socialising. It is also possible to open the door between the two rooms to make one large room. Large tinted windows along the sides and the panoramic windows at the front provide a very pleasant light while shielding occupants from view. The tent's windows are also equipped with folding curtains, which makes it easy to choose how much light or transparency you want.
Thanks to the large windows on the sides and the front door, the outer room can be used for eating or socialising either with the door closed or the door fully or partially opened. If you want a floor in the outer room as well, you can buy a footprint (not included).
The inner room has a completely sealed floor. By closing the door to the outer room, you can then ensure that no cold drafts occur or any small insects enter. This is a much appreciated property in the evening. Both rooms are great for furnishing.
Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lamps or other accessories to the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes in the tent.
The inner tent is divided into two sleeping areas with room for two people in each. The wall in the middle of the sleeping area can also be removed if you want to gather the whole family in a large sleeping area. A heavier dark fabric in the inner tent minimises the effect of evening and morning sun. The inner tent also has a curtain that can be rolled down over the ventilation to reduce the light that enters through it.
The tent fabric is completely waterproof with taped seams and is treated with flame-retardant. It also has a sealed floor sewn to the outer tent, which protects the tent from wind, insects and dirt. The inner tent is pre-assembled on delivery, and does not need to be detached when the tent is packed.
1. How durable are the air channels?
The channels consist of three layers. Finally, a layer of strong polyester, then a protective layer of PVC and then comes the channel itself in TPU. The construction makes the channels more resistant to wind than steel and fiberglass poles. It is important, however, that you only use the supplied pump and do not pump to a higher-than-recommended pressure for the tent as that risks destroying the channels.
2. What happens if there is a hole in the channel or a valve breaks? Is the tent collapsing?
The channels are separate in the Air tents. So the tent does not collapse area if there are holes. All channels can be easily replaced and if it is a small hole, you can also fix it temporarily with an Outwell repair patch, duct tape or silicone tape. Should a valve in the tent stop working, it can also be replaced.
