Outwell Ashwood 5 is the further development of the previously popular Outwell Franklin & Oakwood 5. Ashwood 5 is a family tent that reminds us of a smaller cabin where, thanks to the protruding roof, you get a shelter over the entrance that protects both from rain and sun. A big advantage of the tent is that it is both easy to assemble and packable for its size, which makes it a favorite for those traveling with more limited packing space. New with the Ashwood 5 is that the protection over the entrance is enlarged and provides a larger surface at the front of the tent compared to the previous models. The door to the inner tent can also be opened with a magnetic strip to make it easier and quieter to get in and out of the sleeping cabin (Outwell Quick and Quiet).

About the Outwell Ashwood 5 Family Tent

Outwell Ashwood 5 is an upgraded version of the previously popular Franklin and Oakwood 5 and is a family tent adapted for the couple who wants extra space or for the family with children. The design of the tent is most reminiscent of a small cabin with a protruding roof that protects the door from rain and sun. The small roof can also be used for storing shoes, toys or equipment.

Ashwood 5 has a large rain-protected opening at the front with a D-shaped door that opens fully on warm days so the tent can be used as a sheltered patio. The family tent also has a fully sealed floor sewn to the outer tent, which protects the tent against wind, insects and dirt.

Thanks to the compact pack size, many people with smaller cars choose the Outwell Ashwood 5. This is precisely because you get a bright and pleasant tent with a solid floor, a large surface with standing height and high comfort in the sleeping cabin.

Outwell Crossflow Ventilation
The ventilation at the back can be opened completely to create extra air flow in the tent on hot days or in the morning. The ventilation at the front has also been properly increased to get a better through flow. Because the family tent's large opening also has a net door, you can open the tent completely to keep the temperature in the tent down, even if there are a lot of small insects around.
 

The family room

Thanks to the large windows, the ceiling height of 200 cm and the bent bars at the ceiling, the living room is very spacious for the size of the tent and it is easy to furnish with a smaller table and chairs for socializing in the evenings and on rainy days. The tinted windows provide a very pleasant light throughout the room while reducing visibility. The tent's windows are also equipped with roll-up curtains that can be adjusted in three positions, making it easy to choose how much light or transparency you want. An advantage is that the door to the sleeping cabin can also be opened completely to make the tent into one large room.

Outwell HookTrack System
The Outwell HookTrack System makes it easy to attach lights or other accessories to the tent. The included hooks also make it possible to hang equipment or clothes in the tent.
 

The sleeping cabin

The sleeping cabin accommodates five people, but we also recommend it for fewer people as a little extra space gives room for packing. A stronger dark fabric in the sleeping cabin and in the fabric of the outer tent above the sleeping cabin reduces the effect of many tent campers' worst enemy, the morning sun. The sleeping cabin also has a curtain that can be rolled down over the ventilation to reduce the light that enters through it.

Outwell Quick & Quiet
In addition to the zipper, the bedroom has a magnetic strip so that the door can be opened and closed without a zipper (Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner door). A solution that makes it possible to get in and out of the sleeping cabin without waking the rest of the family.

 

Other

The tent fabric is completely waterproof with taped seams and is flame retardant. The inner tent is pre-assembled on delivery and does not need to be removed when the tent is packed up. The bars are color-coded for easier assembly.
